What’s All This Buzz about Social Media & Tribes?
Posted By Robin Lynn Brooks on January 19, 2010
Please, allow me…
First, a little brief about ‘Social Media’, then about the’ Tribal Buzz’ gaining much attention…
As you already may know, many of the tools used in social media are actually platforms designed to interact and connect this great world on the internet. LinkedIn, a created social network application started around 2004. Facebook’s platform only went public in 2006 as did Twitter about one year behind You Tube. We now have what is known as web 2.0 communities, services, applications used for interactive information sharing of various video sites, blogs, social networks sites, wikis, mashups and the like. With this increase of so many Web-ready devices and technology, it is NO small wonder how this information sharing trend is evolving. And how!
Now, tribes in this instance here, will be described simply as a community sharing a common activity, niche, circle of interest or vision. And that being said, what compels us to become a member of an exclusive community?
Personally, I say the tribal attraction most often lies in the Gleaming Vision, Passion or Mission of the leadership. The desire to be a part of something that’s hot! And we want to be included in the journey and a part of something that matters.
The power of association makes a huge difference in a tribe and collaborative efforts do really make magic happen.
Social Media Tribes are seriously causing a buzz due to a small group of leaders who shared an internet marketing vision and created the value packed webinar course called Tribe Mastery Intensive. It is designed to mentor, lead, teach, share, grow, and increase success for the internet marketing and blogging communities using collaborative network social syndication strategies. This course proves extreme value for any business or group wishing to introduce or increase their exposure on the internet in a powerful branding sense with VERY little investment.
As many of you realize already, there are tons of free exposure platforms available out there! And free webinars, too! Why not use them or at the very least why not learn about them? The internet and the explosion in social media have made it easier than ever to market. Learn to leverage the power of social media sites by taking full advantage of the massive traffic there. Find training. It’s available from those with proven results in this market.
I would be wrong not to encourage you to inquire if you DO see a Tweet on Twitter including the hash tag #tribetuesday. It is the sign of a tribal alliance, the sign of “syndication-love” and the sign of search engine optimization happening right before your eyes at the hands of a tribe!
A few questions I have asked myself:
- Am I making the most of this great cultural movement that is happening across the Web?
- How is my positioning and visibility on the internet?
- Do I have a blogging alliance watching my back?
We should never stop learning as it is, the world here never stops changing – right?
Thanks for the awesome comments everyone has been leaving…
And as always, if you see something you like here please as always share away!
Enjoy Your Day!
Robin

Hey Robin! You are right that all of the Social Media sites have gotten a massive amount of traction in a very short amount of time and they are only going to continue to grow in the future. There is so much potential literally at our fingertips for establishing ourselves on the internet. Being part of a tribe and working with a group of people with similar goals is definitely the way to go.

Hey Robin,
I feel so priviledged to be part of the tribe buzz, it is such a wondeful movement which is yielding massive results. People want to take a look at this and then look again…if you have an opportunity to get on the Tribe train you should grab it with both hands and never get off lol.
All the best and thanks for the info
